JAGD & HUND: The international forum for hunting subjects

From 29 January to 3 February 2019, Messe Dortmund will be opening its doors again for JAGD & HUND. This time, Europe’s largest hunting exhibition will be even more international than ever before. In addition to the strong interest foreign visitors and exhibitors have in the exhibition, partnerships with international associations will be expanded.

Around 80000 visitors and 800 companies from 41 countries came to Dortmund in 2018. The foreign share was one third. When asked how satisfied they were overall with JAGD & HUND, the visitors gave the rating “good”. Most would recommend the exhibition to others. The exhibition in 2018 received the highly positive rating of 1.8 –  JAGD & HUND is clearly a visitor favourite.

Trade Fair Visit
with Dogs

Dogs are gernerally welcome at the FISCH & ANGEL and JAGD & HUND fairs; however they must have a valid and certified anti-rabies vaccination. The vaccination is valid when your dog has been vaccinated at least 21 days before the beginning of the fair without exception. 

JAGD & HUND – Europe's largest hunting exhibition

Jagd & Hund presents a one-of-a-kind shopping and adventure range. Lots of entertaining highlights make a visit to the exhibition a true experience. 

International Attraction
JAGD & HUND is becoming increasingly international. Companies from more than 40 countries present their offer at the Westfalenhallen Dortmund Exhibition Centre. Amongst them:  are far-travelled exhibitors from Australia, New Zealand, Argentina, the United States of America and South Africa.

Animals in Action
Besides the comprehensive product offer of the international exhibitors, a diverse accompanying programme also makes a visit to JAGD & HUND truly enjoyable experience. Examples are the bird of prey and hunting dog presentations. About 1,300 dogs show their qualities at the exhibition. Virtually all hunting dog breeds are represented. A spectacular cross-country vehicle course and hunting clothing fashion shows can also be seen at
Europe’s largest hunting exhibition.

Exciting Competitions
Every year, the show features of JAGD & HUND in Dortmund offer everything that the heart of a hunter or nature lover desires. The programme includes spectacular competitions, for example, the German Deer Caller Championship and the International German RedFox Award, organised by the ‘Wild und Hund’ hunting magazine.

Nature Conservation and Protection of Endangered Species
JAGD & HUND addresses nature conservation and the protection of endangered species. Topics like alternative biogas generation are part of the programme. The ‘Experiencing Nature’ joint stand of the State Hunting Association of North Rhine Westphalia (Landesjagdverband NRW), the German Forest Protection Association (Schutzgemeinschaft Deutscher Wald) and the Ruhr Regional Association (Regionalverband Ruhr) informs children about the forest and its inhabitants. 

Wild Food Festival
Culinary and game preparation have long played a special role at the fair. Starting in 2019, the topic of game will be dedicated to the WILD FOOD FESTIVAL, a whole own hall. And not just any: in the traditional and coveted arena, visitors are offered a show, food and expo program throughout the entire trade fair period. In addition to hunters, the fair also attracts fans of good food in the halls and offers them fresh products and ingredients, creative recipe ideas and culinary delights, as well as an exciting stage program and workshops on venison with top-class TV, star and top chefs.
